Dan Luong is a multifaceted musician based in London, Ontario, Canada. He works as a Music and Choir Director at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collaborative Pianist at Western University and as an orchestral keyboard player for local orchestras including London Symphonia, Niagara Symphony Orchestra and London Community Orchestra. While maintaining a busy performing career, Dan is also in high-demand as a dedicated teacher to a large studio of 40 students. He was a Gold Medal recipient for Elementary and Intermediate Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music for the highest examination results in the year 2024-2025. His students are frequent scholarship winners at local and provincial competitions.
Dan is a Western University graduate, having studied with Prof John-Paul Bracey, Dr Brett Kingsbury, Dr John Hess and Dr Angela Park. He won several competitions and scholarships during this time. As a prizewinner of these competitions, Dan has performed concertos with the Western University Symphony Orchestra and the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra. Dan was also a member of the 2020 and 2021 Canadian National Youth Orchestra. Most recently, he won second prize at the 2024 University of Florida International Piano Festival. At the end of April 2025, Dan will be competing in the final rounds of Eckhardt-Gramatté Competition in Brandon, Manitoba.
